My West Club Experience

I'm really excited. Summit

I've been going to the Summit Church ever since I entered the RDU area.  I went sporadically over junior year and more consistently over senior year while at Science & Math.  Last year, I was probably down from Boone on an average of one Sunday per month at the West Club campus.  Sometimes, I'd just head to Durham for the weekend just to go to the Summit.  Never have I been so in love with a church.

If you've never been, I'd love to take you one Sunday.  The place is so full of the Spirit.  Our worship is so powerful; our best songs are the ones that are written by our very own worship leaders.  Everyone you encounter is genuinely interested in your life, and how God's meeting you in it.  The folks at the Summit are devoted to meeting the needs of the Triangle.  You can check them out here to learn more.

In case you didn't know, the biggest reason for my transfer from Appalachian to Carolina was a God thing.  Senior year, God told me pretty clearly that Durham is where I'm meant to be.  He placed the city on my heart.  I have a passion and love for the city that I've never felt for any other location.  I knew that I had to get back to the RDU area after about a week in Boone.  With the opening of West Club, I felt the need to get back here even stronger, so that I could be a part of God's love working its way throughout Durham.

So what am I so excited about?  I'm joining the church.  The last two Sundays I've been participating in Starting Point, where you learn more about the church and what it means to become a member.  In a few weeks, we'll be having the Covenant Membership Commission.  I'll formally become a member of the Summit Church.  I'm so glad that this day has come, and look forward to a long life of serving at the West Club Campus of the Summit Church.
